Hi everyone, today’s post is about magic! Well, actually is about the different ways that you can apply the new Metallic Gilding Polish paint by Cosmic Shimmer / Creative Expressions, with which you’ll be able to transform almost any material in gold, copper or any other metal of your choice. For me that’s a kind of magic 🙂

Bueno, en realidad va de enseñaros los distintos usos que le podéis dar a la nueva pintura Metallic Gilding Polish de Cosmic Shimmer / Creative Expressions, con la que se pueden transformar un montón de materiales para que tengan un aspecto de oro, cobre o del metal que elijas. Para mí eso es prácticamente hacer magia 🙂

I have this paint since I attended the Make and Take by Creative Expressions at Crafting at Ally Pally this April, and since then I’ve become addicted to it! I use it for everything and even with that, the pot still has loads of paint. It really lasts long.

You can use it in plastic, cardboard, mount board, paper… but in today’s video I’ll show you how to apply it to wood. We will do a makeover on a chipped black frame, that even doesn’t have a glass or a back board and we will end up with a brand new fabric pinboard, with that metallic finish on the wood (you can use it to pin what you want or even as a background to shoot pictures of your artwork)

USE ON PLASTIC

What do you think about these ikea padlocks? They were originally red and black and now they have a much more interesting look so they can be used in a different type of projects more vintage, steampunk or shabby-chic style, for instance.

Or what about these frames which were originally white plastic (from Poundland). I painted the one on the left with black acrylic paint first and, when dry, I applied Metallic Gilding Polish paint on top. For the one on the right I directly applied the MGP paint over the white surface. The look that you get with both techniques is completely different but in both cases I find it’s awesome, on the one you get a more vintage look and on the other one, a more shabby chic look.

USE ON PAPER

These 2 cards will be the stars on my next video (stay tuned! In the video I’ll use this MGP paint as well as Infusions by PaperArtsy and Brusho. You can see what these other 2 products are by watching my previous video or post where I review them). For these cards I applied the MGP on top of the embossed surface and I also created a gold/bronze card base for one of them. When you use this paint heavily on paper, it seems that the material you are holding now it’s gold or bronze, it’s amazing!

USE ON MOUNTBOARD

In this case I painted the black mount board as part of these menu mockups. The mount board is very similar to the paper and this mount board in particular (black) doesn’t need to much paint to get this metallic/wood effect

USE ON WOOD

And of course, the pending material is the wood. In the Creative Expressions make and take at Crafting at Ally Pally we painted and assemble this scene. All the paint used is Metallic Gilding Polish in different colours, so you can see that Chocolate Bronze is not the only colour available (although it’s my favourite)

METALLIC GILDING POLISH PAINT – TABLERO DIY

Tengo esta pintura desde que hice un taller en crafting at Ally Pally el pasado abril y me tiene enganchada. La uso para todo y aún y con todo el uso que le he dado, el bote sigue bastante lleno, cunde mucho.

Se puede usar en plástico, cartón, papel… pero en el vídeo de hoy la vamos a aplicar en madera, para transformar un aburrido y destrozado marco negro, que ni siquiera tiene cristal ni tapa, en un nuevo y original tablero (ya sea para usarlo como memo enganchando cosas o como base de fondo para hacer fotos)

USO EN PLÁSTICO

Qué me decís de estos candados de ikea, que eran de plástico rojo y negro. Ahora tienen una apariencia mucho más interesante y se pueden incorporar en otro tipo de proyectos, más vintage o steampunk que antes, por decir un ejemplo.

O estos marcos que eran de plástico blanco. El de la izquierda primero lo pinté con pintura acrílica negra y una vez seca, le apliqué la Metallic Gilding Polish encima, mientras que al de la derecha le apliqué directamente la pintura sobre el blanco. El acabado que consigues es totalmente distinto, pero en ambos casos tiene su encanto, uno más vintage y otro más shabby chic.

USO EN PAPEL

Estas dos tarjetas van a ser las protagonistas de mi siguiente vídeo (atentos! en el vídeo usaré esta pintura, y los productos Infusions y Brusho a los que les hice un review en mi vídeo y post anterior) y en ellas uso la pintura para resaltar el embossing en frío y para crear una base de tarjeta en dorado/bronce. Realmente cuando pintas papel, el material que finalmente acaba en tus manos parece oro o bronce, es una pasada!

USO EN CARTÓN

En este caso pinté una tira de estos cartones negros (que son para crear paspartús) para hacer dos simulacros de menús. El cartón es muy parecido al papel y este, por el hecho de ser negro, no necesita a penas pintura para conseguir ese efecto de madera metalizada (por llamarle de alguna forma…)

USO EN MADERA

Y como no, el material que me queda por comentar es la madera. En el taller de Creative Expressions, en Crafting at Ally Pally hicimos este marco de DM y lo pintamos con varias pinturas metalizadas. Os lo muestro para que veáis que aunque en este post todo es del mismo color (chocolate bronce) hay muchos más colores disponibles.

Espero que os haya gustado el producto y el proyecto de hoy que consistía no sólo en mostraros las opciones de esta pintura sino también en enseñaros cómo transformar un marco negro y destrozado en un tablero muy sencillo y muy diferente
