Hola a todos!  Este post llega más tarde de lo previsto porque he estado de vacaciones una semanita por Barcelona. Disfrutando del sol, la playa, la piscina, la comida y, sobre todo, de amigos y familia. Aunque estaba de vacaciones (o más bien, como estaba de vacaciones) no podía faltar el scrap. Así que el post de hoy va de lo que he estado preparando para la feria del 5 de diciembre en Charlton House, en Londres (Charlton Road, SE7 8RE) donde pondré un puestecito y podréis comprar cositas como esta colección de tarjetas de Navidad.

Hi everyone! This post is slightly delayed because I’ve been on holidays for a week in Barcelona. I’ve been enjoying the sun, the beach, the swimming pool, the food and, most of all, I’ve been enjoying my time with my friends and my family. Although I was on holidays (or maybe because I was on holidays) there was some time for scrap too. So today’s post is about what I’ve been doing in preparation for December’s fair on 05/12/2015 in Charlton House, in Londod (Charlton Road, SE7 8RE). I’ll be having a table in that craft fair, so you’ll be able to find my creations and buy them if you please, like this collection of Christmas cards.

This collection comprises 5 cards that follow a similar pattern (that´s why I call them a collection) and you can see them below:

I’ve made 6 of each type, so if you are quick enough, you may be able to get the entire set at the fair and if you do so, you’ll get a little present for free. Remember, 5^th of December, save the date! 🙂

If time permits, I’ll be creating the same collection but with the focal point in real fabric, sewn to the paper. For now, you can have a look at the paper version. I’ll show you the cards one by one in order of creation:

#1 – gingerbread man

I always think of Shrek when I see one of these biscuits: “Not my gumdrop buttons!”  hehehe… In this case, the buttons are not sweet; they are made from Mother of Pearl. The biscuit has a faux stitching in white and it seems it’s popping up from the card thanks to the foam adhesive. Same as for the remaining cards (except for one), it has a lace and a button from which a baker’s twine comes out down to the focal point (in this case, the gingerbread man) so the focal point is hanging from it.

#2 – stockings

You can also see the faux stitching in this card. The stocking has a loop made of velvet ribbon from which the baker’s twine passes through and which helps securing the hanging to the lace.

#3 – present

In this case the focal point is not hanging, it’s supposed to be laying on a table, so here I’ve inverted the position of the lace and the sentiment. The lace is decorated with a ribbon which has embossed gold stars (it’s one of my favourite ribbons)

#4 – tree decoration 1

There are two types of this version of tree decoration. One which has music notes pages out from an old chorus book and another one which has just letters from a vintage book. Both are decorated with washi tape in red with white polka dots. This version is more lively and playful than the final card, which is also the same shape but different colours.

All the sentiments you can see in all the cards have been heat embossed in gold and I’ve made the stamps myself with a great and marvelous machine (stampmaker). I may show you how I make a stamp using that machine one day. It’s surprising how quickly you can transform your drawing, handwriting or anything you get in black and white into a real stamp!

#5 – tree decoration 2

In comparison to the first tree decoration card, I’ve done this one in muted tones and it has a more vintage look. Instead of washi tape, here I go back to use the same gold stars ribbon. I really like the colour combination for this card.

CRAFT FAIR – CHRISTMAS CARDS 2015 PAPER COLLECTION

Esta colección está formada por 5 tarjetas que van en la misma línea (de ahí que sea una colección) y que son estas:

He hecho 6 de cada tipo, así que si sois lo suficientemente rápidos, podréis conseguir el set entero en la feria y si lo hacéis, tendréis un regalito. Apuntad en la agenda, día 5 de diciembre! 🙂

Si tengo más tiempo, crearé la misma colección pero con el punto focal en tela de verdad, cosida al papel. Hasta entonces, os enseño cómo ha quedado esta versión en papel. Os las enseño una a una y por orden de creación.

#1 – la galleta de jengibre

Siempre me acuerdo de Shrek al ver una de estas galletas: “el botón de caramelo no!” jejeje… En este caso los botones no son de caramelo, son de nácar. La galleta lleva un falso cosido en blanco y parece que salga de la tarjeta (está en 3D) gracias a la espuma foam. Como el resto de tarjetas (excepto en una), esta lleva una puntilla de la que se supone que cuelga mediante un botón.

#2 – el calcetín

En esta tarjeta también podéis ver falso cosido en algunas partes. En esta ocasión, el calcetín tiene una tira de terciopelo granate a través de la cual pasa un cordón que va de nuevo hacia la puntilla.

#3 – el regalo

En este caso el elemento central de la tarjeta no está colgando, se supone que está apoyado en una mesa, con lo que aquí he invertido la posición de la puntilla y la felicitación. El regalo lleva un lazo de raso con estrellitas en dorado (es uno de mis lazos favoritos!).

#4 – una bola

Hay dos modelos de esta versión de bola: uno con partituras (la que podéis ver aquí) y otra con hojas de libro antiguo. Ambas llevan cinta washi a topitos rojos. Como en todas las tarjetas, la felicitación navideña (Merry Christmas) está hecha en embossing dorado usando unos sellos que he hecho yo con una maquinita que es una maravilla (stampmaker). Esta bola es de colores más alegres, si la comparáis con la tarjeta número 5 que está al final.

#5 – otra bola

En este otro tipo de bola es de tonos más apagados y más vintage que la anterior. Aquí en lugar de washi, he utilizado el mismo lazo de raso con estrellitas. Me gusta mucho la combinación de colores en esta tarjeta.
